Timing

The Timing tab shows each cast as a bar: back cast, pause and forward cast, with a white mark where the rod stopped.

The Overview tab lists the times for the cast you’re on: Back cast, Pause and Forward cast, in seconds.

A good pause

The pause is the time between the back-cast stop and the start of the forward cast. It should last until the line has straightened behind you, so a longer line needs a longer pause. If the forward cast starts too soon, the review flags Pause looks short. The pause drill sets a metronome from your own good cast.

The haul

When your line hand is in the frame, a dot on each bar marks the haul peak, and the line under the bars says whether it was on time, for example 0.08 s early. A good haul lands with the stop: short and sharp at the end. If the line hand isn’t in the frame, the tab says so, and there is no haul timing for that cast.
