The faults, one by one
Under What we saw, the review lists the faults in your cast. Tap one and the video jumps to it: the stretch is highlighted, a dashed line shows the straight path the tip should have taken, and a card explains it with Likely cause and Try this.
These are the only fault names the app uses, the ones instructors use:
- Tailing loop. The tip dipped below the straight line, so the loop crossed itself. More
- Wide loop. The tip went round a curve, so the line followed a curve. More
- Creep. The rod crept forward during the pause. More
- Wrist break. The wrist opened and the tip dropped behind you. More
- Early haul. The line hand pulled before the rod was loaded. More
- Late haul. The haul came after the stop.
- Soft stop. The tip slowed down instead of stopping.
- Early power. The fastest part of the stroke was the beginning.
- Pause looks short. The forward cast may have started before the line straightened.
When there’s nothing to flag, the review says Nothing to flag. Tight loop. You can also read every name in You › Glossary.
