The loop score
The loop score is one number from 0 to 100 for the loop you made, with a word under it: Tight (85 and up), Neat (70 to 84), Open (55 to 69) or Loose (under 55).
It adds up five parts, shown as bars beside the ring:
- Straightness (40 points): the tip path stays on the straight line during both strokes.
- Stops (20): the rod stops crisply and holds.
- Tempo (20): stroke times stay consistent, and speed builds to the stop.
- Wrist (20): the wrist stays inside its range and the rod stops high.
- Haul (15): the haul lands with the stop. This part only counts when your line hand is in the frame, and the total is scaled back to 100.
The score is not distance, accuracy or presentation. It is the loop.
