Loop lab
Coach › Loop lab shows how the rod tip shapes the loop. Each cast in it is simulated, then measured by the same analysis your videos get, so what it names is what the app would name on a real cast.
- Watch the cast draw its trace. Tap the button on the picture to pause or play it.
- Move a control and the cast changes at once:
- Tip path, from Domed through Straight to Dipped.
- Pause, from Still to Creeping: the rod moving toward the target before the forward cast starts.
- Stop, from Crisp to Soft.
- Wrist, from Firm to Open: the rod laid too far back at the back stop.
- Read What the app measured: how far the tip went above or below the straight line, how much it crept, the stop, and the rod angle at the back stop.
- What it does to the loop draws the loop that tip path tends to make. It is a sketch: the camera measures the rod tip, not the line.
- What the app names shows the fault chips. Tap one for what it means and what to try.
Try this sets five small challenges, such as making a tailing loop that creep caused. Making a fault on purpose is how instructors learn to see it, and it is a task in exam prep.
Reset puts every control back to a clean cast. When you’re ready, tap Film your own cast.
